Vicious Threads is thrilled to announce the launch of the official Frida Kahlo Pop up store in Melbourne, coming this October. Vicious Threads have worked closely with The Frida Kahlo Corporation to curate a Frida Kahlo inspired range of apparel, accessories, and homeware.

Frida Kahlo is a globally renowned artist, widely revered for transforming weakness into a strength. She is a symbol of patriarchal defiance for people worldwide. She is regarded by most as a pioneering feminist who rebelled against the societal norms of her time and championed pride in individuality.

“I used to think I was the strangest person in the world but then I thought there are so many people in the world, there must be someone just like me who feels bizarre and flawed in the same ways I do. I would imagine her and imagine that she must be out there thinking of me, too.

Well, I hope that if you are out there and read this and know that, yes, it’s true I’m here, and I’m just as strange as you.” – Frida Kahlo

Frida Kahlo’sstyle and life were distinct, and she celebrated being extraordinary. Today, she is a cult figure for all people who dare to be different. Her legacy continues to inspire boldness and unapologetic creativity in people all over the world.

Vicious Threads and the Frida Kahlo Corporation hope to continue this legacy through the creation of Melbourne’s first Frida Kahlo apparel and accessories range as well as providing a creative and interactive atmosphere to the Frida community. Set across two rooms the Shop will pay homage to FRIDA’s life, artistry and quintessential imagination, by offering interactive events, food, coffee and also showcasing pieces from some of Melbourne’s up and coming female artists.
