Helen returns to Kindred Bandroom to perform intimate versions of her new album Love Over Hate, accompanying herself on guitar along with Bruce Haymes on keyboards and special guest Garrett Costigan on pedal steel.
Helen Ryder’s new album ‘Love Over Hate’ was co-produced with Aria Award winning musician Bruce Haymes (Paul Kelly, You Am I) and recorded by Roger Bergodaz (Lost Ragas, Tex Perkins) at Union Street Studio, Melbourne. The sessions featured Haymes on piano, Wurlitzer and organ, Shane Reilly (Lost Ragas, Emma Donovan) on guitars, pedal steel and string arrangements, Stephen Hadley (Tex Perkins) on bass, Bergodaz on drums and Katie Bates (Hannah Aldridge) and Stephen Grady (Songs Of The Canyon) on backing vocals.
A follow up to her lauded debut album Someday Love, this new LP, available on Limited Edition White Vinyl and CD is the album Helen has always longed to make.
“Lush adult pop that leans into its orchestrations, reverberates with a bluesy soul, and occasionally has a touch of the child-of-Laura Nyro.”
