The Not-So-Big-Band: The Music of Herbie Hancock

April 2 @ 9:30 pm - April 3 @ 12:30 am

The Music of Herbie Hancock is an exciting new show brought to you by Toshi Clinch’s Not-So-Big-Band. Usually the NSBB takes the themes and songs from classic movies, TV shows and video games, but this special show is a little different. Unique arrangements of both well known tunes like Cantaloupe Island and Watermelon Man are sure to get you moving, and be prepared for some unexpected twists and turns from Hancock’s lush and enriching harmonic palette. These shows sell out fast, so be sure to grab your tickets early!

The Not-So-Big-Band was put together by Toshi Clinch as a way to celebrate and showcase the up and coming talents of the Melbourne jazz scene, as well as giving them the experiences and connections they need to thrive as professional musicians. The band has been performing regularly together, and has developed a unique sound that is not to be missed. The NSBB features:

Thien Pham – Trumpet
Oscar Bruten – Tenor Sax
Max Budgen – Trombone
Jasper Bruten – Drums
Miro Lauritz – Piano
Toshi Clinch – Bass
