About Marian Petrescu
Marian is a Grammy Award winning pianist who is most known for his amazing ability to play jazz piano with the speed and technique, plus the metronome like time, of the late, great, jazz pianist, Oscar Petersen. If you haven’t heard of Marian before, you are not alone. This unassuming giant of jazz currently lives in Finland, and he is so humble, that he doesn’t even have a bio or photo on his computer to send on email. The icing on the cake is to watch him play at lightning speed, absolutely effortlessly. While in the middle of a fast tempo improvised solo, you can catch him checking the time on his watch, looking around the room, and making eye contact with patrons in the audience as he winks and smiles at them without a single hesitation or missed note in his playing. He is astonishingly extraordinary and beyond belief.
