(Sun, Jun 29) THE HEARTBREAK CLUB (Single Launches)

June 29 @ 2:30 pm - 6:30 pm AEST

Heartbreak Club is a collaborative project led by singer songwriters Duncan Phillips and Stefanie Duzel, featuring Melbourne rhythm stalwarts Luke Richardson on Bass and Matt Gibson on Drums.
Originally conceived as multi artist showcase at the 2023 Tamworth Country Music Festival – where rotating artists performed their original material with a single backing band – the concept worked so well that founding member Duncan Phillips brought it home Melbourne.
Since then, various incarnations of the Heartbreak Club have taken to stages across the city and at Tamworth, evolving into a dynamic collective blending country, soul, blues and folk influences.
Now with Phillips and Duzel at the helm, the project has solidified into a songwriting and recording venture under the Heartbreak Club moniker.
Their debut releases A Hard Thing To Do and Come Around will be launched on Thursday, June 29th at George Lane, St. Kilda.
A Hard Thing to Do – Is a tale as old as time of a relationship that endures despite the man’s flaws and self-destructive tendencies. Aware of his own difficult nature, he acknowledges the struggles his partner faces but marvels at the love that keeps them together.
Come Around – Is a song about offering quiet, unwavering support to someone going through a tough time. It’s about keeping the door open, the light on and letting them know they’re welcome to talk whenever they’re ready -no pressure, just presence.
Supporting on the day is Katie Brianna. Doors open at 2:30pm and for more show information, click through below:
