Scarecrow Album 40th Anniversary Celebration at Memo Music Hall

July 19 @ 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm AEST

A Night to Remember: Celebrating 35 Years of Scarecrow-The Mellencamp Show & 40 Years of our namesake-‘Scarecrow’, the album!
Join Scarecrow–The Mellencamp Show for an unforgettable evening at MEMO Music Hall, as we celebrate 35 incredible years; from the heartland classics, to the unforgettable anthems, we continue to honour the spirit and storytelling that made Mellencamp an icon!
This milestone show also honours the 40th Anniversary of John Mellencamp’s legendary album ‘Scarecrow’, featuring timeless top ten hits like ‘Lonely Ol’ Night’, ‘Small Town’, ‘R.O.C.K. in the U.S.A.’, and ‘Rain on the Scarecrow’. Released in July 1985, Mellencamp’s 8th studio album, peaked at No.2, on the US Billboard 200; the overall theme of the album is the fading of the American Dream in the face of corporate greed. Rolling Stone wrote that songs such as “Face of the Nation”, “Minutes to Memories” and “Small Town” have a “bittersweet, reflective tone”. We’ll be performing the ‘Scarecrow’ album in its entirety, plus loads more Mellencamp hits.
Experience the heartland rock sound that defined a generation, brought to life by a band whose passion for Mellencamp’s music has spanned decades. Don’t miss this night of celebration, heartfelt nostalgia, and electrifying performances, that pay tribute to one of the greatest albums in rock history. Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to his artistry, this is a truly special night you won’t want to miss!
Let’s honour two incredible milestones, celebrating 35 years of an iconic Melbourne band and paying tribute to a true American legend & 40 years of his album ‘Scarecrow’!
Doors open from 7.00PM, Showtime from 8.00PM.
