Reconciliation Week event

May 28 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm AEST

National Reconciliation Week runs from 27 May to 3 June. These dates commemorate two significant milestones in the reconciliation journey— the successful 1967 referendum, and the High Court Mabo decision respectively.

Our FREE annual Reconciliation Week event will be on Tuesday 28 May, from 11am to 1pm at Mullum Mullum Indigenous Gathering Place, 47-49 Patterson Street, Ringwood East. The theme of this year’s event is: ‘Walk Together with Courage’.

We invite you to join us and learn more about our shared histories, cultures and achievements and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving Reconciliation in Australia.

The event will have more than 100 students from Maroondah-based schools in attendance and will include a Smoking Ceremony and Welcome to Country, as well as performances by legendary singer/songwriter Kutcha Edwards with Yeng Gali Mullum.

We will also be launching the Maroondah Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan 2018-2020.

A light lunch will be provided.

Bookings are essential. Please call Maroondah City Council on 1300 88 22 33 or 9298 4598
or email

This event is presented in partnership with Mullum Mullum Indigenous Gathering Place and supported by Maroondah Movement for Reconciliation.
