Having established himself within the Melbourne jazz scene over the past 5 years, Ollie Shute has performed with famed artists such as James Morrison, Dick Oatts, Mat Jodrell, Tony Gould and many more! Having recently completed his Bachelor of Music at the James Morrison Academy of Music,he was the recipient of the Performance in Excellence award in 2021, as well as being selected as the drummer for the 2022 Australian National Youth Jazz Orchestra. Ollie is continuing to carve out a diverse career as a creative and professional jazz musician/educator whilst remaining a lifelong learner and contributor to the jazz community.
This time, the Ollie Shute Septet brings together a dynamic set of repertoire from Brazil, including music from artists such as Antonio Carlos Jobim, João Gilberto and Rosa Passos, while also giving you a look at some more modern Brazilian/jazz influenced artists such as Chico Pinheiro and Edu Ribero just to name a few!
