1974 AD is one of the most legendary and successful rock bands in Nepal’s history. Formed in Kathmandu in the 1990s by a group of school teachers, the band is celebrated for pioneering a unique fusion of Western rock, blues, and jazz with traditional Nepali folk music and classical ragas.
Historic Milestones
Rock Yatra (2000): 1974 AD made music history in 2000 with their legendary Rock Yatra concert at the Dasharath Rangasala Stadium in Kathmandu. It was attended by over 60,000 people, a record for the largest live attendance ever seen in Nepal.
