Save the date!
Unbelievably the MoshPit Bar is turning 8 years old! If the MoshPit was a dog it would be 56 years old which is older than the owners. Well one of the four of us anyway.
To thank you all for your massive support over the last 8 years we’re putting on free gigs on Friday night 16th May and all day long on Saturday 17th May.
Both dates are free entry and we’ll be having some drink specials to keep you hydrated.
Here’s the Friday night line up:
7:30PM Jacques Levy’s Desire
Alt-rock 4 piece from Newcastle NSW, Jacques Levy’s Desire channel inspirations from both Australian and American post hardcore and emo influences. Unusual name, great band. We think these guys are going places, and we’re stoked to have them as part of our 8th birthday celebrations.
8:20pm Blurter
Blurter are also originally from Newcastle but these fine gentlemen have been based in Sydney for many years now. Blurter are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get. Originals, covers, or a mixture of both. Come along and see which ones they unwrap on the night! The first band to ever play at the MoshPit almost 8 years ago, no birthday celebration would be complete without them.
9:10pm Pocketwatch
Pocketwatch is a young band with a passion for crafting melodic and energetic ’60’s-infused power-pop and rock. The band have released two EPs, their 2023 debut “It’s Time” (featuring Triple J Unearthed punk chart topping “See You Someday”) and 2024’s “Break Out” produced by multi-ARIA award winning producer Wayne Connolly. We’ve been trying to get these guys in at the MoshPit for some time, don’t miss this!
10:00pm Jupiter 5
Jupiter 5 have been exploring the outer reaches of the solar system for more then 5 years on the back of the album “5th From The Sun”, and supports to local and international acts. Convened from trace elements of The Conspirators, Thurston Howlers and 69BC, they extend their legacy with lashings of 60’s and 70’s rock and are currently recording their second long-player. Firm MoshPit favourites, we love having these guys on the stage.
11:00pm Aria Nova
Aria Nova is the sound of Sydney’s late-night underbelly—raw, electrifying, and impossible to ignore. Blending post-punk energy with indie rock swagger and alternative grit, they call their style “Indie-Sleaze”—a mix of charm, attitude, and sweet yet sour undertones. Formed in a Newtown dive bar, they’ve spent the past year making waves with a sold-out show at Factory Theatre with The Toothpicks, and a previous sold-out headline show at MoshPit Bar. Aria Nova will have you stamping for feet and yelling for more, and we’re extremely fortunate to have them wrapping up our Friday night 8th birthday party.
