Melbourne Songwriters Collective – Silken Dreams Single Launch w/ Indyana

Melbourne Songwriters Collective presents 3 songwriters in the round: small but powerful Chilean-Australian artist Pia Nesvara, swirly bedroom producer Chev Person, and introspective and playful artist STAV. Their live showcases bring out each songwriter’s unique story and are full of surprises. Spontaneously joining in on each other’s songs with harmonies, their performances look like improvised instrumental melodies and subtle percussive grooves intertwined with intimate stories, of joy, sadness and life experiences with honest sharing of their songwriting processes.

Stav, Chev and Pia have created Melbourne Songwriters Collective with the vision of facilitating a platform from which to share and collaborate on each other’s songs and form a community hub for other songwriters. Their debut performance via the Folk Alliance (Folk Unlocked) in Feb 2021 saw the group representing Melbourne songwriters on an International online stage as they shared each other’s songs, songwriting insights and intimate stories of culture and experience. They have since set in stone the vision of this community – as one built from their individual artistry and love for songwriting.

The group have spent much of lockdown in 2021 gearing toward a collaborative EP and planning songwriting workshops, all of which is building towards their online songwriting community launch in 2022.
The Collective are thrilled to launch their debut single ‘Silken Dreams’ at the Wesley Anne, and give a sneak peak look into their E.P (due late 2022). The Collective have high hopes for their 2022 year, as they are scheduled to play The National Folk Festival over April and Dorrigo Folk and Bluegrass Festival in late 2022 – both with songwriting workshops amongst their live performances.

Indyana’s orchestral art pop is coloured by strings, voice, experimental harmonies & beats. She carefully crafts her works with a childlike wonder and a deeply embedded desire to story tell.
