Willkommen bei Krautrock Klang!
West Germany, late 1960s.
The younger generations are compelled to establish change fuelled by their soundtrack. Minimalist. Psychedelic. Sans swing. Hypnotic Rhythms. Multimedia music. Progressive. Experimental. Detachment. Isolation.
A counter culture movement whose key elements – beat, commune, hair and drugs – architected the sound for modern rock music and traversed to electronic pop.
Alongside their contemporaries, we celebrate the November 1974 German release of, the zeitgeist that is Kraftwerk, “Autobahn”.
MELB BLITZ DJs will be honouring Krautrock legends in addition to continuators and disciples: Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark, Soft Cell, Human League, Gary Numan, Depeche Mode, Throbbing Gristle, Whirlywirld, Cabaret Voltaire, Nina Hagen, Visage, Ultravox!, Ultravox, Grauzone, Julian Cope, The Grid, Hawkwind, Bauhaus, Blancmange, Yazoo, Magazine, Siouxsie and The Banshees, Joy Division, New Order, Brian Eno, David Bowie, Public Image Limited, et al.
Come join our admirers’ commune and follow the beat of radical change.
This is a celebration for people of a particular persuasion – those intrinsically linked to the avant-garde.
We welcome the peacocks, poseurs and protagonists whose manifesto is to set the future’s course.
Bring your best self-of-art, dress to impress and be satiated by the aural and visual pleasures curated by DJs of distinction… All your record collection in one venue!
