Discover a living traditional language when you visit the Yarra Ranges Regional Museum’s latest exhibition, dhumba-njan dhumba-njarr, which means speak-I speak-you in Woiwurrung.
Learn the remarkable story of this Woiwurrung language which is still spoken today. Explore a special digital interactive and pick up new words.
Immerse yourself in exhibits that tell the story of Woiwurrung. They include objects of rare cultural significance, cultural maps, tools and objects including a possum skin football.
This exhibition has been created with guest curator, Brooke Wandin from the Woiwurrung speaking Wurundjeri-wilam clan to mark UNESCO’s 2019 International Year of Indigenous Languages.
