Édith Piaf Tribute Show by Noria Letts

June 12 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm AEST

“Piaf was star back then, she is a legend now,” is the simple take of French chanteuse Noria Letts of one of the greats of 20th century music.
No doubt Edith Piaf would be delighted her songs and music are still adored and sung in 2024.
If she had a regret, and she had few, if any, it would be that she was not around to be in the spotlight, still singing, still fronting up for encore after encore.
Noria salutes “La môme Piaf” – the life and legend in her acclaimed tribute in a return performance to Avoca Beach Theatre in June.
Noria brings back the songs of Piaf to the stage and takes her audience on a journey from Belleville’s gritty trottoirs to the nightclubs of the Champs-Elysées and Broadway.
Piaf’s songs of love, tragedy and fate are already modern classics. Noria’s rich, powerful and authentic voice carries the show that delights with likes of Non, je ne regrette rien, La vie en rose, Hymne à l’amour, Sous le ciel de Paris and host of other loved and often rare chansons from the Piaf songbook.
It is woven together with Noria’s original and poignant narration of the diva’s extraordinary life and the stories behind the songs.
“The songs were genius – the music and the words – but it was the voice, the passion and performance that elevated Edith to a legend,” Noria says.
“She was just such a generous performer, she gave everything, every night.
“A lot has been said and written about her love-life, but I believe she had only one true love and that was performing to her audience.”
It’s exactly that passion, craft and authenticity that Noria brings to the stage to honour one of the greats and keep her legend burning brightly.
