Clodagh & the Monologue w/ Bad News Gospel and A Man Called Sonn

October 29, 2023 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm AEDT

Come one, come all!
Feast your senses at this frightfully delightful All Hallow’s Eve (eve) gig, hosted at – we kid you not – 666 Sydney Road: Ringo Bar, the hottest new little bar on the block.
Featuring 3 killer acts at just $15 a head, this is a line-up to just die for.
Main ~ Clodagh & The Monologue
Clodagh is your salt of the earth sea-witch, hell-bent on enrapturing unwary sailors with sultry lyrics and insidiously sweet melodies, before categorically blowing them out of the water with femme fatale, folk rock fierceness.
Second Course ~ Bad News Gospel
A haunting solo string instrumental post-rock project inspired by the likes of Earth, Grails, Dirty Three, Morphine, and the captivating allure of old western movie soundtracks, Bad News Gospel will move you like Morticia & Gomez.
These compositions weave a tapestry of vastness and tranquility through the use of drone, repetition, and minimalist arrangements. Bad News Gospel conjures evocative images of expansive landscapes, desolate deserts, and serene countryside vistas, and might just take your breath away – for good.
Apperitif~ A Man Called Son
The atmospheric music of A Man Called Son is grounded in a particular brand of Australian isolationism, evoking long summer days and achingly resonant tales of small town misfortune.
At the height of the pandemic, while the rest of us just went mad, Multi-instrumentalist and producer Simon Pearlman took a few recent backing tracks and bunkered down to put the finishing touches to the much anticipated fourth AMCS album, ‘Timebombs in the Sea”, finally reaching Melbourne ears as the live scene returned last year.
After touring the album locally with the band, Simon is now back for a limited time only, raw and solo with an intimate version to start this seance and call forth the ghosts of what could have been.
