Charlotte Le Lievre – Described by Dave Ruby Howe from Triple J as ‘authentic and tear-soaked alt-country’, songwriter Charlotte Le Lievre has been moving audiences with her deeply emotive lyrics and live performances. Drawing on the diverse currents of country music, Le Lievre weaves songs that traverse experiences of grief and outback landscapes. Her voice and songs are equal parts heart wrenching and uplifting, hailing from a vintage era of smoke-filled honky tonk bars or late-night fireside jam sessions. Charlotte’s debut record Songs from the Barrier Line is out 10 March 2023. Set time: 10pm Link: https://www.facebook.com/charlottelelievremusic
The Double Dole Stringband formed in 2020 during the golden era of aggrandized Jobseeker payments. They perform innovative and driving stringband tunes, both original and traditional, reflecting critically upon the old-time tradition. Inspired by personal experience, political discourse, animus for police and love of native birds, the DDSB will have you tapping your toes so hard you’ll forget about your misspent taxes.
Based in Naarm (Melbourne) and having performed to packed audiences at Dorrigo Folk Festival and Cobargo, The Double Dole Stringband is comprised of four of the countries best up and coming old-time players: Grace Bigby, Jimmy James, Jas Bell and National Folk Fellow Luke Byrnes.
