Get ready to dance to the Greek Swing tunes of Cats and the Canary, as they return to The Workers Club after two years. Their unique tribute to Greece’s most prolific composers, including Theodorakis, Tsitsanis, Chiotis, and Hadjidakis, is blended with swing, jazz, and even Latin sounds. Occasionally, they add in a tsifteteli or traditional smyrniotiko for a little extra flavor.
Known for their distinctive musical style and infectious energy, Cats and the Canary have earned widespread acclaim from audiences and local media alike. They’ve rocked the stage at numerous festivals, including the Brunswick Music Festival and Antipodes Festival, and sold out shows in Melbourne and Sydney.
Kicking off the night will be the explosive Heirs of Apollo. This band is the result of an unlikely combination, blending traditional Greek instruments with hard rock drums and electric guitars. Their fiery renditions of Greek regional classics are sure to make you dance and sing along.
