Don’t Tell John Deliver Fiery Breakup Blues Rock Anthem with “I’m Done”

Bay Area blues-rock outfit Don’t Tell John return with “I’m Done”, a soul-soaked anthem that transforms heartbreak into power. Hot on the heels of their Hard Luck EP, the track reinforces the band’s reputation as a rising force in modern blues-rock — steeped in tradition, but unmistakably current.

Fronted by the formidable Veronica Larkin, whose powerhouse vocals evoke Janis Joplin and Beth Hart, “I’m Done” brims with swagger and catharsis. Gritty guitar riffs, a driving rhythm section, and Larkin’s searing delivery make it a bold declaration of independence — a blues-rock breakup song that hits like a live-wire performance.

A true family band, Don’t Tell John features three generations of the Larkin family — including former Nathan’s Hand members Mark and Jack Larkin — along with guitarist William Larkin, lead guitarist Eric Cretarolo, and percussionist Jon Protass. Their natural chemistry fuels a sound often likened to a female-fronted Soundgarden, fusing ‘90s alt-rock weight with vintage blues grit.

“I’m Done” is both a statement and a celebration — of strength, self-respect, and sonic fire. It’s a compelling reminder that blues-rock remains as vital and visceral as ever.
