India Jammu – The Himalayas $170.00
Nose: Apricot and peach leading into prune. All wrapt in a warm spice coat that is in balance with the faint whiff of oak.
In the mouth: Slightly sweet, with a sprinkle of salt. That sits just at the front of the spice as it enters the mouth.
The finish is long and full flavoured however very smooth with no burn at the back of the palate as you swallow and savour this rather interesting whiskey.
A smooth and enjoyable, slightly lighter in body and mouth feel than a lot of Indian whiskeys. Certainly among my top pick of Indian whiskeys.
Believe It Or Not – I enjoyed this whiskey with an array of spicy Indian finger food and snacks, as this would be to the shock and horror of any whiskey aficionado.
I must admit it was not my first choice of food to enjoy with whiskey. However having said that, some of it worked rather well.
