The first sniff had me, the first sip convinced me,  with its powerful red and black fruit wrapped in dusty tannins that raced ahead of the fruit that filled my nostrils only minutes before, with the suggestion of flavours to come!
In the mouth:  This wine opens quickly with powerful black fruit, and all the berries you can think of and more. Supported by a little oak spice, I found this the fullest flavoured and potent Cabernet Sauvignon in the line up at lunch.
The wine has a true sense of Napa Valley about it with rich earth and a dense dark Cabernet core. With every sip the wine changed going from strength to strength.
This Cabernet was my pick for the cellar as there was 6 years bottle age on it.  While still showing powerful fruit layer upon layer, until the dusty tannins make an appearance at the end, taking the palate for a long,g lingering ride.
This is a Cabernet Sauvignon for slow-cooked, braised two-toothed lamb with quince and spice, take it easy on the spice.
Let the dish rest for a day to take on all the flavour. Then you will understand the meaning of wine pairing with a meal that should be embossed in your memory for some time to come.
Foremos,t be sure you’re in good company when you drink this wine, as I was. It will give you something to talk about when you next open a good bottle.
