In the glass: Black berry with a Purple tinge around the rim.
Nose: This wine was rather aromatic with ripe red berries and black fruit wrapt in a little smoke and spice.
In the mouth: The wine is medium bodied with black fruit filling the mouth, awash with crisp tannins and a dry slightly dusty Finish. There was something a little savoury with hints of spice around mid plate. That I found very enjoyable about this flavoursome Cabernet Franc.
The wine is aged in 60% stainless steel tanks and 40% old oak founders, producing a clean flavoursome wine. I scored this wine highly as for me it was among the better French Cabernet Franc on the day with far more depth of flavour than most Australian Cabernet Franc that I have tasted of late.
Not a wine for great ageing, 5 years will perhaps see it at its peak.
This was a shame and possibly a waste of good wine but I had this with meat balls in a rich tomato sauce as it was all I could be bothered cooking at the end of the day and it was absolutely delightful worked a treat.
Enjoyable Cabernet Franc with a reasonable price tag.
