Loved by collectors and artists alike, Arts Project Australia is excited to present its celebrated Annual Gala event as an in-person exhibition and online auction hosted by Leonard Joel on Sunday 12 December 2021.
On why APA artists love the gala, Mark Smith, a resident artist since 2007, says, “It’s a good chance to exhibit. It makes you feel really proud. It’s an acknowledgement for your hard-earned work.”
The auction will feature over 200 artworks by more than 150 APA artists. Available works will include drawing, sculpture, painting, printmaking, and ceramics, with 60% of artwork sales going directly to the artists. In line with the easing of restrictions in Victoria, in-person viewings will be available from 8 – 12 December 2021 at the Collingwood Yards gallery.
Each year, Arts Project Australia hosts an Annual Gala presenting artworks from their studio artists. While usually held at the Arts Project Australia gallery, APA has made changes over the past two years — turning many of their exhibitions and programming online, including the success of APA’s Satellite Arts program, a remote studio program for artists with an intellectual disability.
A creative social enterprise providing support for individuals with intellectual disabilities, Arts Project Australia is a not-for-profit organisation promoting artists work and advocating for inclusion within contemporary art practice. Since its inception, Arts Project Australia has continued to strive for excellence, both in the quality of the exhibitions presented at the Collingwood Yards space, and the quality of the innovative studio program attended by 150+ artists at their Northcote location and online (Satellite Arts).
