Featuring standout singles “Lauryn Hill” ft. Flyana Boss & “Rocky Mountain” ft. Brittney Spencer

Bryce Vine is steering his own ship again, and it sounds like freedom. The platinum-selling genre-hopper has officially released Motel California, an 11-track LP that marks his return to independence—and his most unfiltered project yet.

Built around West Coast moods and emotional detours, Motel California pulls from pop, hip-hop, alternative, and even country influences without ever sounding like a collage. The project’s title is a wink to the laid-back chaos of California living—a place where ambition and disillusionment often share a bed, and Bryce uses that backdrop to explore late-night reflections, ego clashes, fleeting love, and the paradox of chasing highs while trying to stay grounded.

Lead single “Lauryn Hill” featuring Flyana Boss is an instant earworm, draped in bounce, charisma, and sun-soaked bravado. It’s the kind of song that demands windows down and volume up, with Flyana Boss’ energetic verse only adding fuel to the fire. On the other side of the spectrum, “Rocky Mountain” featuring Brittney Spencer delivers something more earnest and spacious—an acoustic-leaning ride through self-discovery, laced with wanderlust and vulnerability.

But Motel California doesn’t stall in any single lane. Tracks like “GOOD 4 NOTHING” and “Bittersweet Symphony” showcase Vine’s signature blend of irony and introspection, while “THE DAYS (This Thing Called Life)” leans nostalgic without slipping into cliché. Even the more playful cuts—like the quirky “JANE FONDA” with Mickey Avalon—carry a certain self-awareness, never drifting into throwaway territory. The final track, “7 DAYS A WEEKEND,” is a bright, synthy crescendo that perfectly captures the album’s vibe: carefree but conscious, catchy but not shallow.

Unburdened by major-label expectations, Bryce Vine sounds more relaxed and self-assured than ever. Motel California isn’t just a collection of tracks—it’s a check-in to his world on his terms. And if this album is any indication, the Bryce Vine era of creative autonomy is just getting started.

Motel California is available now on all major streaming platforms.
