In celebration of her new single, ‘Nature Calling’ Melbourne producer and songwriter Louise Terra has revealed a 360 Virtual Reality music video for the electronic dream-pop track. Enlisting the help of director, Rachel Ferry, the video follows the journey of a mechanical Louise Terra, an intersectional, freedom-fighting cyborg that is depleted yet driven for her survival. After a three-year interval, Terra is back and will be unveiling another three singles over the next 12 months.

Combining forces with visual artist and filmmaker, Rachel FeeryTerra and Feery take audiences into ‘Nature Calling’s’ 360 extraordinaire. Mixing Feery’s interest in immersive cinema and Terra’s fantasy pop lyrics, this collaboration is imbued with the otherworldly and hyperreal. Set in a series of desolate landscapes, akin to Mars or an impoverished Earth, we follow Terra’s journey, soundtracked by a score of deliriously hooky vocals, pounding rhythms and atmospheric synthesisers. Terra’s futuristic combat wear is stylised out of post-consumer-waste created by artist and fashion designer Rachel Jessie-Rae O’Connor and video graphics by lolanthe lezzi.

The Virtual Reality experience was first premiered at Testing Grounds, with VR headsets that allowed participants to become absorbed in the world of Terra. Now, audiences can experience the virtual reality encounter from their phones, tablets or desktops.

IMMERSE YOURSELF IN THE NATURE CALLING’ VIDEO

It was evident from our first meeting that we wanted to bring something new to the video clip format and 360 video was something we both were interested in exploring. When listening to ‘Nature Calling’, there was a real momentum present in the track that reminded me of Science-Fiction and video games narratives and so Terra came to be represented by an embattled game character in search of survival in the story.” – Rachel Feery

Singing in a disco outfit, Sugar Fed Leopards and one half of dark-pop duo Sawtooth,Terra is a veteran of the Melbourne music scene, taking inspiration from her prolific performances across the Australian touring circuit and beyond. Terra will be adapting the incredible art of ‘Nature Calling’ to the live scene as she celebrates its release with a single launch at Melbourne’s Horse Bazaar on Saturday 24 August with support from Sissysocks and Plazza.

Become absorbed in the game-play of Terra, you won’t be disappointed.
