Paris-based, Miami and Buenos Aires-raised artist Federico Nessi, performing as Be My Wife, delivers a striking exploration of experimental pop and shadowy romanticism with his latest single, ‘Only You’.
The track, the third from his forthcoming EP ‘To Deliver a Feeling’, balances cinematic theatricality with emotional introspection, offering a glimpse into Nessi’s richly textured artistic universe.
‘Only You’ unfolds in two distinct movements. The first half is a sweeping, melodic power ballad, with Nessi’s vocals navigating vulnerability and grandeur, evoking the romanticism of The Platters. The second shifts into hypnotic, Krautrock-inspired territory, where rhythmic repetition and mantra-like phrasing, “I’m only interested in Paradise”, create a disorienting yet liberating tension. This duality mirrors the complexities of love itself: both tender and tumultuous.
Musically, Nessi’s sound is a blend of bending synths, staggered beats, and vocals that oscillate between intimacy and intensity. The influence of Bowie’s theatricality is clear, but Nessi’s own restless creativity transforms it into something distinctly his own: immersive, unpredictable, and viscerally emotive. The track is as haunting as it is euphoric, reflecting a project that exists at the intersection of introspection and performance.
With ‘Only You’, Be My Wife continues to define his idiosyncratic pop world—where intimacy meets spectacle, and sound becomes both visual and emotional. It’s a bold, immersive statement that primes listeners for the kaleidoscopic intensity of ‘To Deliver a Feeling’.
