“Roesy’s glass half full meditations tug at the heart and leave a warm glow in the brain, like any number of gentle early 70’s songwriters” RTE Guide “Roesy is an artist of great patience, his song writing is of a consistently high standard, while his vocals are powerful and the arrangements are executed wonderfully” Golden Plec

“…impressive musical talent and overwhelming passion” Faster Louder

“Wolf Counsel is a charming collection of understated and wistful songs. It doesn’t get more languid and dreamlike than this”
Hot Press, 7/10 ★★★★★★★

2017 promises to be a big year for acclaimed singer songwriter Roesy as he kicks off with a small tour of Victoria to air some new songs ahead of an Irish and NZ tour of new works.

He starts in his now Australian hometown of Port Fairy on 13 January then goes onto Queenscliff, Melbourne, Warrnambool and Phillip Island on 2 February. It’s a mix of solo performances and double bills with Irish/Aussie compatriot Gallie.

Audiences can expect to hear material from his seventh album ‘Wolf Counsel’ released in 2015, produced in Australia by Mark Stanley (Shane Howard, Glen Hansard, John Murry, Gemma Hayes), and new material currently being recorded and released as the year progresses.

Roesy’s melodies have the presence to seem familiar while remaining distinctly his own; impossible to ignore or dismiss. The deceptive simplicity of his lyrical themes reveals their latent complexities upon repeated listening.

A co-project of Roesy ‘s ‘The Very Round Robin’, founded in Ireland with Una Molloy of the infamous Turing Pirate agency (Lisa Hannigan/ The Young Folk/ Wallis BIrd), will also be touring Ireland and Australia throughout 2017. It brings together three songwriters to share their stories and songs in a live intimate setting. Liz Stringer, who performed on Gallie’s latest album, will share the bill with Roesy and Gallie at the Hamilton Performing Arts Centre on 19 April – more dates at  www.theveryroundrobin.com

Over the past 20 years Roesy has shared the bill with international figures such as Bert Jansch, Ron Sexsmith, Paul Brady, Billy Bragg, John Martyn, Joan Armatrading, Donovan, Shane MacGowan and celebrated Irish author Paul Durcan.

He is also a talented visual artist and is currently exhibited by The Artery Gallery in Warrnambool.
