Arrival.

A photographic exhibition celebrating Melbourne’s diversity and the warmth of human connection this winter.

Safari and Melbourne Airport bring you Arrival. June 3 – 30th 2019. Think Humans of New York – being displayed in the arrival hall at Melbourne Airport. View the images here – www.safari.global/arrival

‘Melbourne is proud to be a place that does not just accept diversity but celebrates our unique differences, to have captured that through the Arrival exhibition is deeply rewarding.’ – Nigel Camilleri

Over 3 million people from different cultures, speaking different languages, worshiping different gods, and working in different jobs, will pass through the arrival gates at Melbourne international Airport in 2019.

‘We hoped to capture moments that celebrate the universal feeling of human connection, which transcends all of our differences.’ – Gabrielle Reiher

While technology and air travel has changed dramatically from the romantic days of yesteryear, the emotion, the tears, the smiles and even the handwritten welcome signs that greet loved ones as they walk through the Arrival doors have not.

‘Whilst we are often bringing back stories from around the world, this project allowed us to uncover unique stories right here in our own backyard.’ – Andrew Englisch

No matter where we come from or where we’re going, we can all relate to the feeling of embracing a loved one after time apart – and it’s that moment, that the Arrival project explores.

Exhibit dates: June 3 – 30 2019 Exhibit location: Melbourne international airport arrival hall screens. Media / exhibition inquiries: gabrielle@safari.global | www.safari.global Cost: There is no cost to view this photographic exhibition.
