Anne McCue

Bluesy songstress and multi-instrumentalist ANNE MCCUE has released her 6th studio album – Blue Sky Thinkin’.

After a few years overseas we can’t wait to have Anne McCue back at the Van. Special guest SARAH CARROLL.

Anne plays guitar in tandem with Robyn Hitchcock on his self-titled release (Yep Roc) and has recently produced albums for artists Emma Swift, Scott Miller (Ladies’ Auxiliary) and Ellen Starski. She has been touring as Miller’s guitarist whilst also playing her own shows. Her new single ‘Fall Through The Cracks’ was produced by Josh Grange (Sheryl Crow, k.d. lang) and she is working on a bunch of other new material. McCue co-write the title track of David Olney’s new album ‘This Side Or The Other’ and hosts the radio show  Songs On The Wire which can be heard on WXNA FM, Nashville and Main FM, Castlemaine.

“I’ve been a fan of guitarist/singer/songwriter Annie McCue for many years so I’m very honored and happy about singing with her on a damn fine song for her upcoming album. You can’t go wrong with such talent.” Dave Alvin

“Australian-born, Anne McCue is the virtual definition of ‘triple threat.’ A potent singer, thoughtful songwriter and tough guitarist…” Billboard

“McCue’s [guitar] virtuosity is no surprise, but the ease with which she’s absorbed and restated the beating heart of swing music is impressive and thrilling.” No Depression

“… with references to Django Reinhardt and Billie Holiday among others, this gorgeous album showcases McCue’s songwriting, torch-like vocals and brilliant, mostly-acoustic guitar mastery.” Elmore Magazine
