Canadian singer-songwriter Allyson Whitmell just released her debut UK single, “Crack in My Window”. Combining elements of pop, jazz, and musical theatre, the song highlights Allyson’s cinematic style, poignant songwriting, and distinctive voice.
“Crack in My Window” captures the bittersweet emotions of saying goodbye to a cherished place. Inspired by the memory of a stubborn window in her former home, Allyson weaves themes of nostalgia, grief, and gratitude into this intimate yet powerful track. Featuring a solo violin arrangement by Jono Hill (Bridgerton) and production by Ben Pelchat, the song delivers a yearning, nostalgic tone.
Allyson graduated from the University of Toronto in Piano Performance and Composition in 2023 and is an Associate of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Piano and Voice. Currently pursuing a Master’s in Applied Music and Health, she is also training in Neurologic Music Therapy.
