A VERY TISMIST CHRISTISMIST

When was the last time a member of TISM stood on a stage? Ok… you could just about say that for anyone at the moment, but live music from TISM members doesn’t happen all that often.

This December there are TWO shows featuring THREE ex-TISM members. Talk about all your Christmases coming at once!

DAMIAN COWELL’S DISCO CHRISTMAS

THE CORNER HOTEL – FRIDAY DECEMBER 3, 2021

Bookings

Of course, it’s not a disco show – but there will be glitter a-plenty.

ROOT!, The DC3, commissioned artist at MONA, Melbourne Comedy Festival… And now webseries creator, podcaster, and producing of a sparking new double concept album.

There really isn’t another musical artist like him, and to celebrate this huge year Damian is back on a stage for the first time in two years – Damian Cowell’s Disco Machine – featuring comedy Tony Martin royalty– will be returning to play their unashamed celebration of dagginess, ‘Disco Christmas’ live at the Corner Hotel on Friday 3 December. The Disco Machine turn Damian’s mini pop anthems into an explosion of colour and movement – with some typically twisted Christmas carols thrown in for good measure. It’s a celebration of all that’s great – and stupid – about the world. And you can shake your booty while you’re at it.

THE COLLABORATORS

THANK CHRIST FOR CHRISTMAS

NORTHCOTE SOCIAL CLUB  Saturday December 11 2021

Bookings

Though frankly, he didn’t have much to do with it.

Jack Holt, personal manager to Jock Cheese, another founding member of that mythical Melbourne institution TISM, is joined by Matt Jeffrey in The Collaborators for a special evening celebrating nothing in particular. Why do bands always have to be celebrating something? Can’t they just get together and blast out a shipload of noise and give the audience a freaking great evening?

Ok… well it is nearly Christmas so I guess we don’t have to be all grinchy about it, so here’s a gift for all TISM fans – yet another TISM founding member, Sean Kelly (AKA Leak Van Vlalen) will be joining the band to crank the guitar up on choice early TISM material such as ‘John Bonham’s Coke Roadie’, ‘I Drive A Truck’, ‘Vote For Boat’, and other TISM bangers.

New tunes, songs from The Collaborators top notch CD, and maybe even a few other tismic surprises will ensure this will be a super fun evening.

TISM VINYL, CDs, T-SHIRTS AND OTHER MERCH

Not a gig, but we couldn’t help ourselves but plug all the TISM releases out in the past 12 months – 8 albums, and a couple of dozen different t-shirts, caps, posters, road signs, hoodies, and a mask (natch) make for some fabulous stocking stuffing. Go to www.tism.shop to check it all out.
