Join best-selling British author Johann Hari as he speaks in-depth with host Sarah Grynberg for their conversation on his book Stolen Focus: Why You Can’t Pay Attention. Hari discusses the crisis of attention in both children and adults, how ‘big tech’ saps our ability to focus, as well as the insidious environmental factors that affect our attention such as pollution and chemicals.

Having been joined on her podcast A Life Of Greatness by the likes of Matthew McConaughey, Andrew Huberman, Esther Perel and Deepak Chopra, Grynberg said that her was no question about who to invite as she takes it live to the stage.

“When considering who to join me, one name stood out immediately: Johann Hari,” she said of the tour. “As one of my all-time favourite podcast guests, Johann has captivated and inspired many with his profound wisdom and engaging storytelling. I can’t wait to share the stage with him and create unforgettable experiences for our audience.”

Hari has been on a mission to uncover why this is happening to us and whether we can get our focus back. Alongside Sarah, they will discuss how technology and other facets of modern life have impacted on our ability to concentrate. What he discovered were structural problems rather than the individual’s personal failings.

“Australia is having a huge attention crisis. It’s affecting adults and kids, and it’s getting worse. I’m really excited to explain to Aussie audiences the 12 factors harming our attention – and the scientific evidence for what we can do now to get it back.”

In this live show, Hari explains how we can take our focus back and support children and teenagers to do the same. Discussing how we don’t have to be either pro-tech or anti-tech to solve the problem. Each event will feature a deep dive into themes from his work, followed by vibrant Q&A sessions where audience members can participate in the discourse by posing questions.
