2019 Season Reveal – Chapter 1

There was an amazing community vibe at Theatre Works on Sunday. Acland Street was full and buzzing as we announced Chapter 1, 2019 at Theatre Works.

We kick off Chapter 1 at Theatre Works with our Midsumma Hub.

In January Theatre Works transforms into a playful, provoking and proud Midsumma Festival hub. Think Britney (Spears of course) and burlesque; cake daddies and butch monologues; a space where anyone and everyone from in and around and outside of St Kilda can, and will, come to see multiple shows on a nightly basis. Think world premieres alongside internationally renowned works. Think the biggest collision of creativity and community… then multiply it by ten… then place it in the heart of St Kilda.

Theatre Works wants to invite you to Give a Fuck. And to Cake Daddy and Butch Monologues and Truly Madly Britney too. However, not just as audience members, but as friends and peers and co collaborators of Theatre Works; as community partners. We know that Midsumma is as important to you as it is to us and we know that the 2019 Theatre Works Midsumma hub will be a unique and exciting and uniting place during Midsumma – a necessary place – but we need your help. We simply can’t do it on our own and we don’t want to. We want to do it with you.

Come, join us for the ride during Midsumma and across 2019.

Many thanks to everyone who attended on Sunday. It was great to see Theatre Works buzzing with such a magnificent vibe.
